Make a Big Shot Stencil
This is a fast and simple card that is fun to make with the "Lovely as a Tree" set. I needed an oval stencil, so I used my Oval Die with the Big Shot.

I ran the Oval Die through the Big Shot and then simply used tape to replace the ovals I did not want open.

I now had my oval stencil to sponge my card front.

When I applied ink to the background trees stamp, I stamped it first on scrap paper, before stamping on my card. This way, the ink was lighter. This technique is called "Stamping off".
Then, I stamped the background trees on my card with the stencil in place.

After stamping the background trees, I removed the stencil and stamped the large tree.

Stamp Club Swap!

(Click on the Image to see more detail)

I just finished my Stamp Club Card Swap! The clubs are Great! We meet once a month and everyone in the club receives a turn at being the hostess. As a member, you are guaranteed a qualifying workshop, which means....FREE PRODUCT! Everyone loves 'free'!
It is a fun Halloween for stampers this year! We have the new Black Lace trim on page 8 of the Holiday Mini Catalog and on page 36, the new Glimmer Brads. I bought the Glimmer Basics set for only $4.95 and it has Black! which is perfect for Halloween and I still have the other colors for Christmas!

My spiderweb was made with an embossing folder (page 6). I stamped and sponged first, then ran it through the BIG SHOT with the embossing folder afterward. Using my sanding block, I brought out the raised spiderweb.
The black lace is ruffled by using a piece of Sticky Tape and just pressing each fold on the tape.

I can't wait to see everyone's swap at the next meeting! Would you like to join one of my clubs? Contact me today!

Artistic Etchings for Stephanie!
Galations 5:22

I made this project before and my daughter Stephanie wanted me to make her one...so tada! I love the feeling the sponging of More Mustard and Baja Breeze gives the whole project. It was fun doing the 3" x 3" squares. Each one was a 'little' project.

Stampin' Up!'s New Designer Fabric!

I received my new Designer Fabric featured in the Holiday Mini Catalog! I love it! and you get a lot of it. It comes in a "Fat Quarter", but you actually get 6" more length on each piece.
I cut the leaves (except for the largest one) in felt with the big shot and the Leaves #2 die.

My "Countryside" Morning!

The bus picked up the boys for school this morning and I sat down with my coffee and Countryside stamp set (page 115) and enjoyed the sound of the rain and soothing thunder. I love LOVE stamping with friends, but, don't forget to pull out your ink and paper and enjoy those quiet moments to create and breathe deep. This morning reminded me once again, why I love stamping. Peace and creative satisfaction.
A friend asked me for some samples of masculine cards. This is what I came up with. I think I will love this set as a favorite for a long time.
The colors I used are: Poppy Parade, Pear Pizzaz, Concord Crush, Peach Parfait, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake.

I am so glad I went in on my own Ribbon Share! I have every color available to me now! I want to go in on the 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (page 191). At first, I thought, it seems like such a small ribbon. But, I have seen so many cute samples with it and it has become a Must Have! Let me know if you want a share! Click here to see info about the Ribbon Shares.

These are 3" x 3" cards. Sometimes they are the PERFECT size for gifts! The apple is colored with Riding Hood Red and Cherry Cobbler markers using the Aqua Painter (page 195) on Watercolor paper. (Artist's tip: Always remember to leave some white for highlight!)

Notice this is the 3rd time I used the new Decorative Label Punch from the Holiday mini catalog, page 25? I am finding it is a perfect size and a perfect embellishment.

I know I posted this one before, but I could not leave it out of the Samples for this set. It is a favorite for sure! The clouds are done with a punched scallop circle, randomly placed as a mask and I sponged ink around it.

Some of the coloring was done by painting with my ink. I just squeezed the pad lid before opening it. It then placed color on the lid. Using my Aqua Painter, I picked up the color and painted. Be sure you have stamped your image with Stazon on Watercolor paper. If you are using regular cardstock, you could use this method with a Blender Pen instead of the Aqua painter. Just be sure not to "scrub" your image. Just lightly, "lay" the color down.

Saturday's Card Set Class!
Saturday's class was great! We had a good time. Everyone enjoyed their projects and visiting for the afternoon. There were drawings and prizes! We had some good belly laughs too! Here are some pictures...

and...here, as promised, is the most fabulous Cream Cheese Frosting recipe ever!
2 8-oz pkgs of softened cream cheese
1/2 cup of honey
1 Tbs of Orange Zest
1/2 cup of heavy whipping cream
mix for a minute on high speed the cream cheese, honey and orange zest. Then add the whipping cream and beat on medium for 1 to 2 minutes.
frost your cupcakes or cake and refrigerate for 1-2 hours. Set out to return to room temperature before serving to allow the flavors to blend.

Halloween is Just Around the Corner!

This fun card was made by using Sticky Tape to secure the linen thread between two layers of cardstock. I cut this large 3" circle with my Circle cutter (p. 199 of the the Stampin' Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog).

It was easy to line up the circles.....after cutting my card stock and scoring the base, I cut the Pumpkin Pie mat 1/4'" less than the base, then with each piece, I simply used a ruler to go from corner to corner and make an "X". Then you will have the center of your card to line up with the center of the circle cutter.

Don't you LOVE the new spiderweb embossing folder from the new Holiday Mini Catalog (p. 6 ) and the new Extra Large Decorative Label Punch (p. 25)!!
